Aloha CJJF Academy

Professor Myron Kamihara decided to bring the Caveirinha style of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to Round Rock, Texas in 2018 by opening up Aloha CJJF Academy. “Aloha” represents the spirit of Myron’s home state of Hawaii. It further represents the academy philosophy of Family; Love; and Respect. “CJJF” stands for Caveirinha Jiu-Jitsu Family Association.

Professor Myron’s Jiu-Jitsu philosophy regardless of whether you are training for self-defense, anti-bullying, and/or competition is rooted in sound fundamentals. He  believes that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has specific movements that need to be developed through repetition. Professor Myron also believes that technique and movement must be practiced under realistic conditions. This can be accomplished by controlled sparring.

Head Instructor

Professor Myron was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 2011, at the age of 27, Myron moved his wife and one month old daughter to Michigan so he could attend Law School. Looking for a way to keep his energy up and release some stress, Myron found martial arts.  He trained under Professor Victor Martinez, a Walter “Cascao” Vital blackbelt, for a year and received his blue belt. Myron always pays homage to Professor Victor for teaching him sound fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Myron found his passion and love for the sport in those 3 years of law school.

Myron returned to Hawaii and continued his training with Gracie Barra. At Gracie Barra, Myron began to develop his Jiu-Jitsu game and competed on an international level.

He received his purple belt soon thereafter and opened his own academy with his then Professor in Kapolei, Hawaii. After opening his academy, Myron began to teach regularly and competed more often in tournaments such as the Master Worlds, American Nationals, San Antonio Open, Austin Open, and Las Vegas Open. Myron eventually received his Brown Belt 18 months later.

Professor Myron sold his academy and continued his training under Professor Caveirinha and Professor Jordan Gomez. Under the Caveirinha flag, Myron has sharpened his Jiu-Jitsu skills and techniques. He continues to teach and compete and has recently ventured into submission only super fights. Professor Caveirinha promoted Myron to black belt in November 2018.
